What is a Mini Tutorial?
We are hosting two mini tutorials at our CMH-17 coordination meeting along with our working group and task group sessions, FAA sponsored research presentations, and our regular all-day tutorials.
Our first mini tutorial is a great opportunity to learn about IPT's with Charles Seaton.
Integrated Product and Process Teams, or IPTs, can greatly facilitate success in defining, designing, and implementing large and small projects. This tutorial is an overview of IPTs, describing important elements of IPTs, including stakeholder roles, IPT membership qualifications, and organization within the teams. IPT procedures are subject to the stage of a product’s life cycle, and how the organization is positioned in the supply chain. Several examples of IPT implementation are described, as well as a discussion about potential case studies which could extend the IPT tutorial into practical applications and system solution technology transfer. Speaker: Charles Seaton, Safety Management WG Co-Chairperson and Design WG Team Player
Our second mini tutorial covers using Material Databases and discusses materials specifications and design allowables.
Practical Realities of Using an Industry Material Database” presents what is obtained with a typical industry data, options for material specifications linked to that database, and the additional material and process specifications, test data and design allowables required for certification and part production. Also outlines various types of “equivalency” programs, and their associated uses and limitations. Speaker: Steve Ward, PMC Industry Chair
These mini tutorials are a great way to get additional benefits from attending our spring coordination. We can't wait to see you there!
